S.D. Maynard lives in a 1914 farmhouse along the Columbia River with her daughter and an ever-changing menagerie of rescue animals, including a troublingly intelligent African Grey parrot named Aughty.

When she’s not convincing her family that the house isn't actually haunted, she writes urban fantasy and paranormal romances about ancient monsters and the amazing women who bring them to their knees.
